Dr. Vance is a loving, caring compassionate vet. After a routine visit, the staff will call to check how the pet is doing. When there is sickness, Dr. Vance calls herself. She has even given me her personal email when she was on vacation when my last dog was very sick. She takes the time to answer questions. I've never been made to feel rushed no matter how busy they are.

When Spookie was in the hospital for kidney issues, they were all gentle and caring and let us come and visit every day (twice a day). We had the option to visit in the consult room or we could hang out at her hospital kennel. Everyone treated her like she was their personal pet, not to mention the office is extremely clean and up to date. They kept us well informed and always let us know how she was doing when she was in their care and then called us to see how she was doing when she was back at home. Really it comes down to one word: CARING! Thanks to all at Coal Mine Animal Hospital!

Dr Osborne is one of most compassionate people I have ever met. He believes pets are family members and treats them with the utmost respect. He explains everything in detail, he is never to busy to spend as much time as you need and goes above and beyond to help. He never turns you away when you call and all of his patients have his cell phone number and he encourages you to call him at any time. When our dog had her second surgery he texted us thru the night to check on her status. He understands emergencies are unpredictable and is willing to give discounts any time he can because he knows whats its like to need emergency care without the money to pay for it. I have never met a vet or personal doctor to be honest that is as dedicated and compassionate as Dr Osborne. He is very family oriented and it shows as his wife and children are frequently in the office helping out. He mentors students and is very hands on with teaching his skills. We love him and his staff and hope to never have to change vets. He deserves to win. Thank you!

We have had numerous pets over the years and our vet always answers the phone when the office is closed and has always met us at his office for an emergency consult whenever we felt he needed to see our pets. He is so kind to both my animals and to our family. Recently we lost all 3 of our beloved beagles, all within 6 months, he cared for them their entire lives. Our 13 year and 12 year old passed from cancer and our 16 year old died from seizures. He and his son, who recently joined his dad after becoming a vet following in his dad's footsteps, did everything possible in caring for our dogs as if they were their animals. He was with us and our beagles hugging us and making the end as easy as he could for both our dogs and us. The kindness, compassion and love of animals that our vet Terry Garner has shown over the years has carried over to his son Kelly Garner who was with us with the most recent loss of our 16 year old. A vet can care for your pet by seeing them annually, but it takes a special vet that puts our furry friends first when an emergency arises. Recognizing both our vets is an honor.

Dr. Jen Petrovich is founder of Crash's Landing, Big Sid's,a cat rescue for abandoned, sick, injured or abused cats. Her compassion and desire to help these "throw away" cats is difficult to describe in words. Her heart, energy, kindness and compassion for these little creatures is constant. She spends countless hours of her own time giving them a chance to be healed, cared for and loved. Because of who she is and what she does, many volunteers are committed to helping out the cats in need at Crash's Landing /Big Sid's . When anyone sees the transformations in the lives of each of these rescued cats one can't help but be part of this compassionate organization. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to volunteer for Dr, Jen and the cat rescue that she is so passionate about. Every time I do volunteer I am rewarded with the kisses, snuggles and "head butts" of such special little creatures. Because of Dr. Jen, not only are cats given a chance for a happy, safe life, but many new friendships are formed among the many volunteers. Yeah, Dr. Jen!

Dr. Jen is not only a vet at Clyde Park Vet Clinic, she also runs to cat shelters. She started Crash's Lamding in Oct. 2010 when a little kitten was brought to her after being hit by a car. Most people would've given up hope in saving this kitten. But Dr. Jen took a chance on him and he survived. She named him Crash. Crash's Landing provides shelter for 130 stray cats. And Big Sid's Sanctuary provides shelter for 130 cats that have either FIV and/or Feline Leukemia. These shelters are no kill and are 501(3)c non profits. They are run strictly by volunteers, no paid staff. Dr. Jen provides all the medical care for all 260 cats. She does not get paid for her time. She, her husband and 2 sons have made many sacrifices over the past 11 years tending to all these stray cats. Do date, we have rescued over 2500 cats. We have found forever homes for many of them. We have lost more than we wanted to. And she has shed tears for each one that is lost. And the rest will always have food, shelter, medical care and lots of love thanks to Dr. Jen! The motto she has for the shelters is "Saving our corner of the world, one cat at a time" Sadly, Crash passed away in April 2013 but he is forever in our hearts.

We found "Dr. K" purely by chance in the early stages of his career. He's never "moved on" and he is now one of the owners. He has shared our joy, our worry and, ultimately, our mourning for 20 years. From puppies who get into silly to serious mischief to animals who have had cancer and he referred them to animal oncologists to seniors who could no longer find their way, he has literally laughed and cried with us, providing counseling and comfort. He has shared so many of life's best and worst moments with us that I hug him when we meet. We don't know him "personally", but he'd be welcome at our Thanksgiving Table any time, because he's become an emotional part of our family. This is the way he runs his whole practice...He treats every pet that comes in as one of "his" own; they're all loved and cherished and nurtured to the best of his ability...day and night...7 days a week...If anyone ever deserved to be singled out for commendation, it's "Dr. K" because he's the best version of a human being I've ever met.

Dr. Trice is a very caring Veterinarian. She takes a genuine personal interest in the heath and quality of life of my two male Yorkies. One of my pets, Franky, was injured in an accident earlier this year. Dr. Trice gave Franky her immediate attention on an emergency basis and was very thorough in diagnosing his injury and assuring that nothing was overlooked. After Franky's initial examination, Dr. Trice continued to follow up with me on Franky's progress until he was fully recovered. I always ask for Dr. Trice to provide Rocky's and Franky's annual wellness exams. She is very thorough in tracking their health histories and providing very detailed reports and recommendations for their continued care. I greatly appreciate and have complete confidence in her recommendations, and make sure my pets remain current on their immunizations and medications. Franky just turned 6 years of age and is very happy, frisky and playful. Rocky just turned 14 years of age. He received his annual wellness examination by Dr. Trice two weeks ago, which he passed with flying colors. Rocky is also a very happy, playful and active pet, particularly so for his age, and I attribute his excellent health to the exceptionally professional care he receives from Dr. Trice.
